Youngest Members Celebrated at VLFCU

May 14, 2012 - Each year VacationLand Federal Credit Union celebrates its youngest members during National Credit Union Youth Week. This year Youth Week was hosted from April 20 to April 26 for members from age 1 to 12 years and included a coloring contest and a piggy bank guessing contest at each of VLFCU's four branches. Each coloring contest winner received a $10 deposit into their Dollar Dog Share Account and a VLFCU piggy bank while the winners for the piggy bank guessing contest won the piggy bank and its contents.

The Perkins Avenue branch in Sandusky recognized Brielle Laughlin as their winner of the piggy bank guessing contest and Bristol Bruno, Samarion Newell, and Paige Loris as coloring contest winners.

At the Hayes Avenue branch in Sandusky, Morgan Gioffredo won the piggy bank guessing contest while Keira Westerhold and Alyson West were recognized as winners of the coloring contest.

The Norwalk branch recognized Brice Caudill as the piggy bank guessing winner while his brother Brice Caudill and Hunter Klein were coloring contest winners.

At the Vermilion branch, Cameron Mulica won the piggy bank guessing contest while the coloring contest winners included his sister Ava Mulica, Emily Burns and Jacob Mayer.

VLFCU Receives Top Ten Honor from Crain's Cleveland

March 26, 2014 - VacationLand Federal Credit Union recently received the honor of being ranked as one of the top ten largest credit unions in Northeast Ohio, as published in the December 2013 issue of Crain's Cleveland Business. Based upon information obtained from the National Credit Union Association, VLFCU increased assets by 6% to $147.7 million as of December 31, 2012 compared to $139.3 million on December 31, 2011.

According to CEO, Bryan Myers, this recognition is a testament to the continual growth and success of the credit union. "I give credit to our over 16,500 members who put their trust in our staff and management. We exist to serve our membership and are always looking for products and services that keep us competitive." Myers also points out that VLFCU jumped from twelfth position to tenth from the prior year's report published by Crain's Cleveland Business. He expects the trend to continue as assets have grown to just over $163 million in the first quarter of 2014.

Founded in 1956, VacationLand Federal Credit Union has over 16,500 members and provides business loans, mortgages, consumer loans, and student loans along with a wide array of checking and deposit products.
