We featured Dave’s Food Mart Avery back in August 2019 and decided we needed to share an update about them this month.
If you remember, they changed the name from Dave’s Park Avery to Dave’s Food Mart Avery last year while they were building a brand new facility. As of last week, the final concrete was poured to complete the one-year project. According to co-manager, Joe Fisher, “everything is falling into place so we can do business the way we want.”
The 5,200 square foot building houses a convenient store, drive-thru, and kitchen. Even though it’s a gas station, locals support the business by purchasing deli sandwiches and hot food specials seven days per week!
Their menu includes breakfast sandwiches, daily sandwich and lunch specials, seasonal soups, hot and cold sandwiches, homemade salads, their famous fried chicken, and a variety of sides. Daily specials are listed on their Facebook page or you can stop in for a monthly menu.
Since the expansion, they have tripled their kitchen staff and are up to 20 employees. Joe says that as things continue to open up, he expects to hire about 12 more employees. The kitchen in Avery also supplies their Norwalk location with deli sandwiches and hot meals.
Other services include an unlimited coffee program, ATM, Ohio Lottery, propane exchange, ice-cold beer igloo, grocery items, and firewood.
The Avery store and gas station are open from 5:00 am -midnight seven days a week, with the kitchen available from 5:00 am-9:00 pm Monday-Saturday and 5:00 am-6:00 pm on Sundays. They are located at 104 W. Mason Rd. in Milan, at the corner of Rt. 250 South. The Norwalk store and gas station are located at 84 Benedict Ave. in Norwalk and are open 24 hours.
