Credit Union Appreciation Day is Thursday, October 17th!

Formally known as International Credit Union (ICU) Day®, it has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948. It's a day for credit unions to raise awareness about the great work we do around the world, and a day to give members the opportunity to get to know us better. It's also a day for us to show members how much we appreciate YOU – our way of saying "thanks" for your loyalty, confidence, and for making VacationLand your preferred financial partner.

As we move closer to a new decade, the amount of technology we use in our everyday lives is only increasing. The lights in our homes can be turned on just by asking Alexa. Running low on milk or eggs? Not to worry – smart refrigerators can see what’s in there and help you put together a shopping list. The world is literally in our pocket with mobile devices that connect us to just about anything we need.

What's the difference between a bank and a credit union? There are a few, but perhaps the biggest is that a credit union is not-for-profit institution, owned and controlled by its members, not outside investors.

Like a bank, credit unions offer staple financial products and services, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards and a variety of loan products.
