“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'” – Mr. Rogers (American TV personality)

The mantra of the International Credit Union is “People helping people,” and it’s a philosophy VacationLand Federal Credit Union practices every day.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for the “helpers” who have emerged to the forefront of our daily lives, including healthcare providers, emergency responders and essential workers.

We also want to recognize the “hidden helpers” who have been a bright light in these dark times – the everyday folks you know who might not wear a cape, but are shining examples of what a superhero is.

Help us #SpreadSomeSunshine in our community by telling us stories about people you know who are making masks for others, running errands for those unable to, performing wellness checks on elderly folks living alone, or making phone calls to those who need cheering up during isolation. Whether the gesture is small or large, we want to hear about it and flood Facebook with some sunshine!
