Membership Qualifications

VacationLand Federal Credit Union’s field of membership, per our Community Charter/Bylaws dated September 11, 2023, includes:

  1. Share savings account with a secured balance of $5 required for membership.
  2. Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities in Erie County, Ohio.
  3. Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities in Huron County, Ohio; York Township in Sandusky County, Ohio; Adams, Thompson, Reed or Venice Townships in Seneca County, Ohio; and Village of Green Springs Ohio. (Added 3/9/2020)
  4. Members of record of this credit union as of July 12, 2001, date of conversion to a community field of membership.
  5. Spouses of persons who pass away while in the field of membership to this credit union.
  6. Employees of this credit union.
  7. Persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment.
  8. Members of the immediate family or household.
  9. Organizations of such persons.
  10. Extended field of membership as directed by the merger of Schools Employees Federal Credit Union (SEFCU) with VacationLand Federal Credit Union (VLFCU) on April 1, 2010, to include: Employees of the Board of Education who work in Huron County, Ohio; employees of the Board of Education of the Ehove Joint Vocational School in Erie County, Ohio; members of this credit union who are retired as annuitants from the above employment and retain their membership in this credit union; employees of this credit union; members of their immediate families; and organizations of such persons.
  11. Extended field of membership as directed by the merger of Sandusky-Ohio Edison Employees Federal Credit Union (SOEEFCU) on September 30, 2017, to include: Employees of the Ohio Edison Company who work in Sandusky, Bellevue, Port Clinton or Norwalk, Ohio; spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union; employees of this credit union; persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment; members of their immediate families; and organizations of such persons.
